While there is lots of space for the process to unfold in unexpected ways, there is a general shape that the sessions tend to take:
We begin with orienting ourselves in whatever way feels aligned in the moment. This might include taking some deep breaths together, a few minutes of guided meditation, revisiting our notes from the last session, following up on action items, or just generally checking in with whatever’s coming up for you.
We use what is present for you - the places where you feel stuck, excited, frustrated, curious, overwhelmed, or inspired - as a jumping off point for our exploration. Using an approach that combines traditional coaching techniques of reflection and inquiry with mindfulness and embodiment practices, attunement to the energy of the situation we’re working with, and a variety of other tools and strategies along the way, we’ll follow the energy of your experience, gaining new insights and clearing the way for more clarity and wisdom to come through.
We then apply that new awareness and understanding to the situation in a pragmatic way, developing intentional and aligned action items - tasks, strategies, exercises, prompts and/or practices - for you to take with you to work on between sessions.

There is no set curriculum nor predetermined session topics in my one-on-one coaching packages. The work does provide a supportive container for your exploration and growth, but what happens within that container is co-created with you.
While I incorporate various frameworks, training and tools, all coaching processes are bespoke and client led. All of our work is informed by your desired outcomes for our time together, and while I facilitate the process, it is very much co-created and responsive to your circumstances and desires. Part of my job is to ensure that we are using our time in ways that feel supportive to you and honor your unique process. And, of course, we always leave room for the magic and mystery of life and growth to unfold through our work.

I tend to say that you give yourself the homework. At the end of each coaching session, you and I together will draw from our exploration to come up with your takeaways and next steps. This might look like an action to take, a tool or prompt to work with, or a practice to take home.

If you purchase a package of sessions (9 sessions to be used in a 3-month time), you have access to support between sessions in the form of text messaging, email, and Voxer voice messaging (up to 30 minutes of Voxer support each week). When clients reach out, I usually respond within 2-4 business hours.

In addition to being a Certified Professional Coach, I am also certified in ADHD coaching. This means that I have an in-depth understanding of the tendencies that often come with ADHD, know how to recognize and honor these tendencies during the coaching process, and how to account for the ways that these tendencies might be contributing to a client’s feeling of being stuck. I am also equipped to coach in such a way that supports and strengthens executive function skills (such as emotional regulation, flexibility, time management, organization, planning, finances, getting started on tasks, sustained attention and working memory, etc.).
Because I am always coaching the whole person, ADHD coaching is not a separate offering nor is it the primary focus of my work; it is woven into any coaching package based on the client’s needs and desires.
Some of my clients identify as having ADHD tendencies (diagnosed or suspected), and some do not. You don’t have to have ADHD in order to work with me. This expertise is just part of my toolkit!
Please note: I do not diagnose or treat any clinical conditions. Providing an ADHD diagnosis is not within my scope of practice. If you think you may be neurodivergent and are interested in a diagnosis, I strongly encourage you to reach out to your primary care physician for resources to receive any clinical diagnosis you are curious about.

I currently only work directly with adults, though supporting parents in supporting their own children through the teen years is specifically an area of interest for me, as is working with adults who are supporting grieving teenagers.

As a coach, I cannot diagnose or treat any clinical condition. While this work can contribute to a sense of wellbeing, and healing is often happening when we meet ourselves with compassionate curiosity, coaching is not intended to “fix” or “cure” you in any way. Many clients see a therapist alongside or prior to coaching to ensure that they are fully supported in the ways they need. If you have questions about whether or not coaching is appropriate for you at this time, please reach out or schedule a Pre-Screening Conversation.
In coaching, our focus is not about digging deep into the past to try and understand a client’s history. We start with the present, only dipping into the past enough to shine a light on the different dynamics at play in the present moment and attend to residual energy that might be impacting the current situation or inquiry we’re working with. Clients always have the option of choosing not to go down a particular path in our exploration if they don’t want to go there. It’s always an invitation.

I meet with clients virtually via phone call or Zoom. I also see clients in person in my office in South Portland, Maine.

This work is about simple, potent, real-time experiences. You decide how much you between sessions. This is not about providing you with a lot of content or information. It’s about you finding the clarity to choose actions and practices that are doable for YOU and aligned with how you want to move forward.
